Not sure if anyone noticed, but Live Spaces now has a desktop based blogging utility. It is called the Windows Live Writer. I have just started using it (in fact this post is using the tool). Here's a quick take:
Good:
- It is extensible, there is an API for plug-ins
- Targets not just Live Spaces, but other Weblogs also
- Allows HTML editing for the post
- Still in beta, and there is a lot of feedback going on, so would certainly improve!!
Bad:
- Forces you to choose the style you have on your blog
- The editor itself sucks, wonder why they could not plug-in already available ones
- Does not download existing posts
For a good blog writer, check out Zoundry - I got to know about it courtsey the one and only Mr Khanna. I wish they would incorporate some of its features into the Live Writer. The extensibility should make it easier.
